Wedding Arch

Something that can be said about me is I am always willing to lend a hand. When I started receiving desperate text messages from a coworker about how to decorate for a wedding I knew I just had to find a way to make this happen.

For a little back-story the sister of the bride to be/ mother to be threw everything she had at a wedding for little sister before the bun could pop out of the oven. With such a worthy cause I knew had to help make this brides dreams come true. Now never meeting the bride did give me some concerns because I was not really sure what kind of person she is. Fancy and flowery, simple and basic, bold and strong… so I just went with what I knew…nothing…

I woke up and ran the colorful messy 4 mile Run or Dye, quick shower at my mother in law’s and then off to the White Elephant Pub. My coworker had purchased different fabrics that matched the wedding décor. The groom to be designed and “arch”. I’m not going to lie, this arch was 7 foot off the ground and was two wooden dowels with a thin metal rod through the top… not a whole lot to work with.

While standing on a latter I got to work with the few supplies that I had. I felt so unprepared but I have to say the results were remarkable. Pushpins, safety pins and zip ties are holding this archway together.

It brought tears to my eyes to see how amazing the couple looked getting married under the arch that I decorated. I had never done anything to this magnitude and I really impressed myself at how amazing a few simple materials could turn out.
